MB Way is the most popular mobile wallet in Portugal and was developed by SIBS, the national payment network. Customers use the MB Way app for direct confirmation within their trusted banking environment.
The user enters their mobile number at checkout and confirms the payment in the MB Way app. The amount appears in your account balance.

2. Participating Banks
MB Way is supported by most Portuguese banks. Users link their account in their own bank's app or via the MB Way app itself. Supported banks include:
- Caixa Geral de Depósitos
- Millennium BCP
- Banco BPI
- Novobanco
- Banco Santander Totta
- ActivoBank
- Crédito Agrícola
- EuroBic
- Banco Montepio
- …and other banks connected to the SIBS network.
3. Payment & Activation
A customer pays with MB Way by entering their mobile number and confirming the payment in the app. PAY. then calls the exchangeUrl of your webshop system and immediately sets the order to Paid; the amount appears on your account balance.
Activation
- Log in to the Admin Panel and go to Manage → Sales Locations.
- At the desired location, click Change.
- Scroll to Payment Options and select MB Way.
- Once more, at the bottom, click Change.
