Wero - In transit status

Learn what the In transit payment status means and when a payment can be considered successful.

With Wero, a payment can temporarily have the status In Transit after the customer has successfully completed the payment.

In Transit means that the payment has been successfully authorized, but the funds have not yet been received by Pay. The payment is still being processed by Wero before the funds are captured and received.

Important: For Wero, the authorization guarantees that the funds can be received. Merchants can therefore process the order as soon as the payment reaches the In Transit status. A delayed Payment Notification (IPN) does not mean that the customer can still cancel the payment, or that the payment can subsequently fail or expire.

In most cases, the payment is subsequently captured successfully and the status changes to Captured. In exceptional cases, the capture may fail or be rejected. If this happens, Pay. can use a manual settlement procedure to recover the funds based on the existing authorization.

For Wero, In Transit can be considered a successful payment for order fulfilment purposes. Merchants do not need to wait for the final Captured status before processing the order.

Order Status vs. Payment Status

It is important to distinguish between the Order Status and the Payment Status.

When a Wero payment is In Transit, the order can still have the status Authorize, while the payment has the status In Transit.

The new_ppt is currently sent via the exchange as soon as the payment status changes to PAID.

Our Order Status API returns both the order status and the payment status. The payment status can be found in the payments block.
